Students
master necessary skills for the administration of CPR.
They learn how to recognize a life-threatening
emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to
do in the case of an airway obstruction or choking.
The American Safety & Health Institute CPR Programs
are based upon the most recent guidelines for
cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac
care.

The
Institute’s CPR Pro course has been approved for
training of Emergency Medical Services Workers in
several states including; Colorado, Nebraska, New York,
Massachusetts, Delaware, and many other states are
following their lead.

Properly
applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time
and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary
disability or lifelong disability for the victim.
Program participants learn to recognize the signs and
symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial
information about how to deal with emergencies like
shock, burns, strains, strokes and seizures is shared.
This program was reviewed by and meets the guidelines of
the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and
the Department of Transportation. It has also been
accepted for training day care personnel and adult care
staff in all states.

Having
personnel on-site that are trained in the use of
Automated External Defibrillation (AED) provides the
victim with rapid defibrillation access before EMS
arrival, greatly increasing the chance of survival.
Training includes recognition of unresponsive victims,
review of equipment operation and maintenance,
discussion of treatment and valuable hands-on practice
to increase skill.
Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Student Handbook
- Covers public access to AED’s and simple
instructions for layperson’s use of AED’s. This
handbook provides educational pictorials and
illustrations.

This
program includes information that will help students
understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks
of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others.
Participants are introduced to precautionary practices
that are recommended by organizations such as the
Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the
Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Bloodborne Pathogens Facilitator’s Manual — Provides
exposure control plans, sample organization plans and
compliance assistance forms as well as in-depth
information for facilitators of bloodborne pathogens
programs.
